Welcome to Basinhead.com & basin head pei

Basin Head Beach is located off route 16, east of the town of Souris on the way to the most Eastern tip of PEI. It is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. Basin Head is a day use park featuring a supervised white sand beach, play area, food on site, washroom and shower facilities. Dogs are allowed on the beach but have to be on leash. The park is also home to the Basin Head Fisheries Museum which is dedicated to maintaining the history of fisheries in that area and is also a Federal Marine Protected area due unique flora and fauna only found there.
Having grown up in Eastern PEI, the beach is one of my most favorite spots on earth having spent most of my childhood summers there jumping off the run and bridge. Basin Head beach itself extends NE for many kilometers lending itself to long walks, beach combing and solitude. The water is warm during the summer months and the sand is fine. Called the “singing sands” since the sand squeaks when you walk on it. BasinHead.com is part of a network promoting Eastern PEI and includes the Eastern PEI Network, PEI Ceilidhs and Panmure Island beach and lighthouse.
We hope that you enjoy your time on our website dedicated to Basin Head Prince Edward Island, its beach, watershed, Fisheries Museum and Provincial Day Park. Feel free to contact us, visit our Basin Head Facebook page or just browse through our site.
